This series is a collection of video stills and large format photographs taken around the time of my presentation at the Bon Hommes Debutante Ball in Macon, Georgia. The video stills are of my fellow debutantes as we wait to make our debut into society as young women eligible for marriage. The large format photographs portray my family's property and belongings which have been passed down for 6 generations starting with the Ransoms, who lived in Macon during the Civil War. I found the name appropriate for the series because of the connotation the word "ransom" has with payoff. These photographs represent a sort of dowry meant to accompany the documentation of the ball and serve as an advertisement for what you get if you get me.
